Hello Potential Visitor,

The Witch House in Salem Massachusetts would like to send you
information on our historic site and museum.  We are a 17th
century historic house museum that was once the home of
Witchcraft Trials Judge Jonathan Corwin.  The rooms are
furnished to interpret the period that Jonathan Corwin and his
family occupied the home which was from 1675-1717.

Our tours offer information on architecture, furnishings and
lifestyle in the 17th century.  We also now offer fascinating
displays and information about the trials themselves.  This
includes viewable documents of the original examinations of the
19 victims that were hanged.  Images of the Judges and ministers
involved as well as copies of their books and writings that detail
folk magic being practiced at the time.  Visitors are usually very
surprised to discover that palmistry, astrology and divination
were all being taught in books sold in England and New England.
Very interesting stuff.

One last thing I will mention, this year we are offering a 17th
century remedy exhibit which our visitors are finding a bit
shocking.  Medicines made from nearly unbelievable ingredients
such as toads, snails even human skull bones are all documented
in early physick books.

If you have visited the Witch House in the past, we think you will
be very surprised at the changes we have made.  If you have not
visited the Witch House yet, we hope you will give us an
opportunity to share with you the most unique 17th century
experience or witch trial information available in Salem.

We offer guided and self-guided tours.  We also offer exceptional
group and student rates.  Please call us with any questions you
might have.  We look forward to seeing you.

Best Regards,
Elizabeth Peterson
